OUR STORY
At Productive Canine, we use a tried and true method of training centered around the same techniques used in most law enforcement and service dogs. We see no reason any dog owner should be denied the same level of control over their pet than that of a service dog handler and his work companion. I am truly thankful for Joe. As a first-time dog owner, I knew very little about how to train my border collie puppy. Initially I tried the rewarding by treats method, but when my dog wasn’t interested in treats, my commands were soon ignored. Within minutes of the first training session, Joe brought out a different side of my dog. She actually thrived on clear commands without a treat in hand. After a few sessions, she became a joy instead of a stress. Joe taught me how to have her sit and stay while I could do practical things like tie my shoes before our run without her jolting off without me. Having your dog sit and stay while you grab a towel to clean paws is also very helpful in keeping the house clean. Joe is excellent at what he does and passionate about not only training dogs, but helping you understand how your dog thinks. Without Joe’s expertise, I would never have come to enjoy being a first-time dog owner.

Absolutely LOVE Joe! He was recommended to us when we brought home our “wild child,” a 7 week old Weimaraner. He’s dedicated, treats his clients & their pups like family, is always available when you call/text needing help, and spends time working on what your dog’s individual needs are. He never cuts you off when your “time is up,” he keeps going until you both feel you’ve got it. Our Saylor loves training, and the bond created trough the process is priceless. She’s almost 3 now, and I can still text Joe with a question and my phone rings within minutes so he can explain the why it’s happening and walk me through steps to correct it. Then sure enough, I’ll get a text or call a few days later to follow up. He taught us to help Saylor control her crazy when she needs to. He’s the best out there!
